The Crest contains: The Church of St Peter with Tiverton Castle alongside.   Below this, the Town is shown with access by two bridges. These bridges spanned the River Lowman & the River Exe having reputedly, replaced two Fords. (Fords first mentioned in the Will of Alfred the Great) Tiverton was previously known as 'Twyford' (The Town of two Fords)   Below the town is shown a Woolsack which depicts Tiverton's association with the woolen industry.
